Happy Holidays!

December 1, 2007

Well the holiday season has begun and Christmas shopping is here...and again you wonder what to get for who and how much to spend. I love Christmas time, it's my favorite time of the year to be able to watch people open gifts with the look of anticipation on their face. I'm trying not to spend to much. I'm doing pretty well staying in my budget but next year I'm going to open a Christmas savings and save all year so I don't have to cram my budget into 2 months:)

Eric is still working hard as the acting Facilities Director and is enjoying himself. I am enjoying my job as well working 2 12 hour dayshifts in the ICU in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. The kids are enjoying preschool, kindergarten, and 1st grade.

The snow has begun up here and the cold weather, today we have about 5 inches of snow on the ground and it's 10 degrees out! Brrrrrrrr! Eric is out 4 wheeling and supposedly looking for a Christmas tree for us...we want to go out on camp property and cut one down with the kids.
Our new director has started, Scot Bale. (Scot was our director when we worked at Cran-Hill Ranch as well). It's still a little strange to have him around, he seems alittle out of place yet but we really enjoy having him here and having an "old" friend around. Monique and the kids are still living in Zeeland and Scot is commuting so pray for them that their house will sell quickly.

We will be traveling to St. Louis for the intervarsity staff conference jan 2-6 and are really looking forward to having time away from camp to spend with eachother and other camp couples to get to know eachother better. Our next prayer letter will be going out soon, please pray for our ministry here at Cedar Campus and that we will continue to be good witnesses to those in the community and for the people that come to camp.

Summer 2007

Wow, has it been so long since my last post???
We are enjoying our summer living here at Cedar Campus. our house has a great view of Lake Huron and usually a nice cool breeze even if it's hot out. Eric has had a very busy summer acting as maintenance director. We have 4 weeks of camp left and are looking forward to a slower pace.
God is good though and continues to meet us where we are at and keep us going forward. God is good, All the time.

The kids and I are enjoying swimming in the lake, more so the pool which is usually about 80 degree water compared to 60-68 degree water.

Eric's parents were up this weekend and we just got back from a wonderful beach called Sandy Cove that is a short hike from the main camp and it is just beautiful. I'll try and post some pictures so you can all understand. If you're looking for a beautiful vacation spot please come up and visit, you won't be disappointed!

Hope you are all doing well, we thank you in advance and ask for your continued prayers for the rest of the summer season. Our prayer letter will be coming out soon to all of you and I pray it finds you all having a wondersul summer, God Bless!

happy new year...

Well it's 2007! It's amazing to me that every year brings with it surprises. The plans we had for the year sure don't always work out and most of the time I get wrapped up in the busyness of
life that I don't even remember I had any plans for the year anyways. Well 2007 is going to be
different...at least I hope so. I intend to take more time for my friends and family because what I learned this year is you never know how long you have. My father passed away on Dec. 7 and what a shock! I would say we had a good relationship and he was always a constant presence in
my life, and suddenly there is a void in his spot. It's never too late to make an existing relationship better, you just have to take time for it. So that's my goal for '07, to make meaningful relationships with my family and friends. So I'll try to call more, try to stop in and see you all and let's make '07 a meaningful year. I love you all and miss you.
